Restoring a Local Landmark: Dr Gray’s Hospital

Darroch & Allan are privileged to be undertaking the historic restoration works at Dr Gray’s Hospital, a Grade I listed building.

The hospital, constructed over 200 years ago, features sandstone walls, a clocktower, and several original architectural elements. The restoration work focuses on preserving these historic features while addressing structural and weather-related damage.

Recent works have included the full restoration of the south-west elevation, rebuilding of the chimney, and major repairs to the clocktower, including the copper dome, timber structure, and original 1818 bell.

Work will now focus on the front façade and the final stages of the clocktower restoration.
